He is so incredibly active. He keeps me running and ensures that I have tons more respect for moms than I ever did before.
He learned to crawl pretty well while we were in Houston, army crawl style. Just recently, he started getting his tummy up off the ground, as well. And let me tell you, that kid is FAST.
He is also completely uninterested in all his toys. The things he likes to play with are:
- anything with buttons (the remote control, the stereo, the computer, a cell phone)
- doors that swing (such as the gate and the door to the living room)
- poles (such as the exposed pipe in the kitchen and the floor lamp)
- the couches (for cruising back and forth)
He has also started going to the end of the couch and peeping over it to look at us. He understands that it's a joke, a little like peek-a-boo. It's so funny!
As for food, he eats anything I give him, but he definitely has his preferences. He loves (we're talking LOVES) toast. He stuffs it in his mouth until we worry he'll choke. He also loves those Gerber puffs, probably because they're the only thing I give him with sugar in them. They have superseded Cheerios at this point. I think his least favorite food is asparagus. In general, he likes orange veggies and fruit and tolerates or dislikes green veggies. And he loves all manner of carbs (he is a boy after his mother's heart!). We have started him on meat, and he really liked a little baby meatloaf I made him. And here's a milestone for you: he had his very first Chick-Fil-A chicken nugget the other day!
Speaking of orange veggies, a funny thing happened when I took him in to get his flu shot the other day. Upon seeing him, the doctor said, "You must be a little boy who loves his carrots and sweet potatoes and squash." I looked at her quizzically and said, "He is! How did you know?" "Because his nose is orange." Ha! We had walked a ways in the cold, and instead of turning red, Noah's nose turned orange! Too funny!
I cannot believe my baby is going to be a year old only two months from now. Time flies!
