Hallelujah! for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
The kingdom of this world is become
the kingdom of our Lord, and of His Christ.
And He shall reign for ever and ever,
King of kings, and Lord of lords.
Hallelujah!
We got to sing the Hallelujah Chorus today in church!
He is risen.
He is risen, indeed!
Happy Easter!

My Little Pastry Chef, etc.
Today I made orange rose-shaped cupcakes in preparation for our Easter dinner tomorrow with friends. I'm going to serve them with a dollop of orange frosting on the side (or maybe I'll pipe it into a fancy rosette, if I feel fancy). This recipe for orange cake is so dang good--I've made it several times before, and we always have loved it. In fact, I have a huge bottle of Grand Marnier in my pantry just to have on hand for this cake.
Anyway, Nathan and I just couldn't wait until tomorrow to eat one of these lovelies, so we each had a cupcake, and we shared with Noah. That kid could not get enough. He L.O.V.E.D the orange cake. In fact, after we were done with our cupcakes, he went into the kitchen and started picking the cake crumbs off of the kitchen table. And (here's the kicker) after I had put the second batch in the oven, I turned around to see that he had gotten the oven mitt, put it on his hand (well, it actually went halfway up his arm), and was standing expectantly in front of the oven! Talk about a moment when you wish you had your camera at your fingertips! I think we may have a future pastry chef on our hands.
Unrelated: It is supposed to be cold tomorrow, as in the high will be in the low 40's. Yuck! On Easter Sunday! Well, I am going to be wearing a dress to church on Easter, even if it is 30 degrees when we leave the house in the morning.
Even more unrelated: Here is a picture of my new haircut, which is only being posted because three people have asked me to post a pic. Please keep in mind that this is me at the end of the day with a 1-year old, after having been kind of sick for four days, and after having my hair rained on. That said, I kind of like my hair in this pic. Can't say the same about my rubbed-off makeup.
And here is the replacement pic that Nathan took of me, because it bothers him that my makeup is gone in that first one. Ha!

15 Months Old!
Springy
I got my hair cut yesterday. Short. Very short. I am not sure how much I'm liking the short. It's about as short as I've ever cut it. It's a great cut; it's not that it doesn't look pretty. It's just that I was getting to like my hair in its longish state, and I guess I just wasn't emotionally ready for several inches to leave me. Oh well, I guess it's more suitable for spring and summer.
Speaking of spring, look what's on my table right now! Daffodils!
Actually, I think they might have exacerbated my spring allergies. But they sure are pretty.

He Sure Does Love to Rock
The Boy sure does love to rock. Lately, he's started using the footstool to climb into the rocking chair himself. Then, standing up in the chair (eek), he leans over to the clock radio on the changing table nearby and turns the radio on. He LOVES to do this lately. The other day, I walked past his room, and I spotted that kid standing in the rocking chair, dancing to the music he had turned on. Just dancin' away. It cracked me up and scared me at the same time.
Sometimes he'll let me sit next to him in the chair.

I keep going back and forth between wanting to grow my hair out and wanting to cut it. These pictures make me want to cut it. Yesterday's hair day made me want to grow it out. I'm a conflicted girl. Also, my high school choir teacher, Mrs. Crenshaw, would have told me to put on some lipstick before taking these pics.
